ECCA Women in Trades event
Seventh & eighth grade students attended Women In Trades hosted by the Early College Career Academy at the SUNY Adirondack campus.

On Wednesday, March 13, 2024, a total of 29 students in seventh and eighth grade traveled to the SUNY Adirondack campus to attend a Women In Trades event hosted by the Early College Career Academy (ECCA). This interactive event was designed to introduce young women to educational and career opportunities in STEAM.

The day was filled with engaging discussions, enlightening presentations, and hands-on activities carefully curated to ignite the students’ passion for STEAM. Women from local businesses including Barton Mines, GlobalFoundaries, Hollingsworth & Vose, Praxis Powder Technology, Inc., Saratoga’s Community Federal Credit Union, and WSWHE BOCES shared their experiences and spoke about their respective fields.

At the end of the day, the students toured classrooms and learned about a day in the life of an ECCA students. They visited the classrooms of each four pathways available: Advanced Manufacturing, Business and Entrepreneurship, IT/Computer Networking, and New Media.
