Big Cross, Kensington, and Jackson Heights elementary schools and grounds are closed for the summer while construction crews are performing major renovations as outlined in the 2017 capital project. Main office staff for each building have temporarily relocated to Sanford Street School. All office contact information (phone numbers and email addresses) remain the same during the relocation. Parents and guardians needing to drop off paperwork to any elementary secretary should use “Door A” on the back side of the Sanford Street building, where the Special Education office is located.
The following renovations are planned for the summer of 2019:
- JH and KRS: Construction of elementary drop-off loops
- KRS: construction of secure entrance vestibule
- BC: replacement of gym flooring
- BC: roof replacement
- MS: renovations to gym locker rooms
- MS and HS: replacement of hallway lockers, building-wide
- HS: replacement of gym flooring and mats
- HS: completion of the 21st Century learning space on third floor
- KRS, HS/MS, and SS: emergency boiler replacement
