Eighty-four Glens Falls High School students were recognized this spring with a VIP award in one of the following areas:
- Positivity (optimism, the student views challenges as opportunities for growth)
- Kindness (the student is friendly and generous, the student builds others up)
- Perseverance (persistence, the student doesn’t give up easily or may be making hard-fought improvements)
- Love of Learning (the student is curious and has a thirst for deeper understanding)
- GF Nation Spirit (the student demonstrates leadership and respect, donates time and energy to the community)
It’s a butterfly! It’s an elf! It’s the Cat in the Hat! No, wait … it’s Teacher Aide Debbie Stiles from Jackson Heights, today’s honoree for Education Support Professionals Week!
“Debbie is reliable, fun, and flexible,” begins principal Ryan Estey. “She even shows up on days in costumes to greet kids with other wonderful support staff.” Previous outfits have included a Hawaiian luau theme and multiple clown get-ups—all to make students smile!
Mmmmm … what’s that delightful scent wafting down the hall? It must be muffin Friday, with goodies coming out of the oven in High School room 108, under the leadership of Teaching Assistant Kristine Trevett-Jones! She is today’s honoree for Education Support Professionals Week.
It was a wonderful celebration of school pride last Thursday on the turf field for the "First and Last Hundred Yards!" Kindergarteners representing the "First Hundred Yards," and seniors representing the "Last Hundred Yards," walked hand-in-hand through a cheer tunnel of parents and community members lining the field from endzone to endzone.
