UPDATE to 4th + 8th Grade Moving Up ceremonies

Dear Families, Faculty, and Staff members:

The regulations and guidance have changed once again regarding end-of-year celebration events — and this time, in a positive way! We now have the capacity to provide a more classic GF Nation send off for our students as they advance through their academic careers.

For the 4th Grade Moving Up ceremonies at Big Cross, Jackson Heights, and Kensington Road:

  • At the elementary level, two parents/guardians will be allowed to attend for every student.
  • All attendees and students must wear a mask.
  • Pre-recorded videos will be shown during the ceremony.
  • Same dates and same times for each ceremony:
    • Big Cross: Tuesday, June 22nd at 9:30 a.m.
    • Jackson Heights: Wednesday, June 23rd at 9:45 a.m.
    • Kensington Road: Friday, June 25th at 9:15 a.m.
  • The ceremonies will be live-streamed and a link shared for those who can’t make it due to short notice.

For the 8th Grade Moving Up ceremony at the Middle School:

  • At the Middle level, parents/guardians will be allowed to attend for every student.  For spacing reasons we can only accommodate parents/guardians (no siblings or extended family).
  • All attendees and students must wear a mask.
  • Pre-recorded awards will be viewed prior to the ceremony and sent to parents to view from home.
  • Same date and time for the ceremony: Thursday, June 24th 10:30 a.m.
  • Parents/ guardians should arrive between 10-10:15 a.m., and the ceremony will begin at 10:30 a.m.
  • The ceremony will be live-streamed and a link shared for those who can’t make it due to short notice.

Thank you, as always, for your continued flexibility and grace. Let’s now put the focus on our students, and concentrate on making them feel special and celebrated!
