Student-athletes celebrated at senior sports awards banquet

GF Nation's families, coaches, and school leaders celebrated a very special class of senior athletes last night at the Grandstanders Senior Sports Awards banquet, held at the Queensbury Hotel! "The Class of 2025 has distinguished itself not only through hard work and perseverance but through exceptional achievements," said Athletic Director Shane Jones. "Among us tonight are league champions, sectional champions, and even state champions. This class is filled with all-stars and athletes who, one day, may have the distinct honor of being inducted into the Glens Falls Athletics Hall of Fame."

"However, as impressive as these athletic accomplishments are, what stands out even more are the achievements of these young men and women in the classroom and their contributions to our community," Mr Jones continued. "Many of our student-athletes have earned scholar-athlete recognition, and many have received honors and awards for their citizenship. They have been leaders in student-led clubs and initiatives, and they have consistently given back to the community that has supported them throughout their journey. Additionally, we have had students who have excelled in the fine arts, music, and theatrical performances, further demonstrating the diverse abilities and dedication that define our student body."

Each year the Grandstanders sports booster club awards six $500 scholarships to Senior Athletes that have excelled on the playing field and in the classroom, demonstrated leadership and strong character, and have carried with them the values that we hold dear in Glens Falls. This year's winners include Forrest Slingerland, Emma Canale, Kellen Driscoll, Brooke Eggleston, Tevyn Owira, and Caroline Lieberth.
