Glens Falls residents vote “Yes” on the 2026-27 school budget; Laura (Kennedy) Kivlen, Jason McLaughlin, Keith LaLone to serve on Board of Education

Glens Falls City School District residents approved the 2026-27 school budget today by an unofficial tally of 475 "yes" votes to 81 “no” votes – an 85.4% percent approval rate. The $61.1 million budget maintains and supports all existing academic programs and educational services, and will increase the tax levy by 2.13 percent.

Community members also approved the tax-neutral Capital Project proposition by an unofficial tally of 473 in favor to 89 opposed (an 84.2% approval rate). The related Energy Performance Contract also passed by an unofficial tally of 484 in favor to 77 opposed (an 86.3% approval rate.

Board of Education candidate Laura (Kennedy) Kivlen was elected to her second five-year term with an unofficial tally of 490 votes. Her five-year term will begin on July 1st.  Write-in candidate Jason McLaughlin received 56 votes, and will begin a five-year term on July 1, 2026. Write-in candidate Keith LaLone received 51 votes, and will take over the unexpired term of Sara DiLandro as of May 20, 2026.
