GF students earn SkillsUSA medals

Congratulations to senior Jordan Phillips, who won the Entrepreneurship division in New York State’s SkillsUSA competition with his team from the Early College Career Academy (ECCA) Business and Entrepreneurship program! They developed and presented a comprehensive business plan for a start-up company, RestNest — an innovative concept aimed at renting private sleeping pods to travelers in airports during layovers. Congratulations also to senior Cayden Roberts, who placed 2nd in NYS in the Culinary Action Skills Basic division! Cayden demonstrated how to properly assemble, roll and plate Sushi, with expert demonstration and explanation techniques. And congratulations to senior Alexis Park, who placed 2nd in NYS in the Animal Science division! Alexis shone in the areas of life sciences related to animal health care, communication skills, employability, law and ethics, and work safety practices. Way to go!
