GFMS Teacher Amanda Matthews' 8th grade Home and Careers students just created the most adorable "plushie" stuffed animals using their sewing skills -- based on monsters our kindergarteners drew and described! Each kindergartener at KRS drew their own colorful monster and wrote details like "my monster likes to eat seashells/McDonalds/hamburgers." Those drawings and descriptions went over to the Middle School and came to life as cute, snuggly monsters made of felt and batting that the 8th graders presented to their partner kindergartener on Thursday! Some of the monsters even had accessories ... those seashells, a mini Happy Meal, a slice of pizza, wrapped candy.

We're so proud of our 8th graders' effort and care that went into this project! Awesome job, Sarah Bennett, Jaylyn Cameron, Noah Cole, Mason Combs, Emma Etu, Nathan Gammariello, Jaiden Higley, Holly Hirsch, Kaleb LaFountain, Trent Lathrop, Ryder Lemery, Aiden Maclin, Henry McPhee, Michelena Nolan, Scarlet Norton, Kaitlin Rice, Carter Rivera, Juliet Whitbeck, Jom Worapalawut, Odette Berisha, Jacob Carpenter, Bryce Chatham, Lyla Cook, Aedan Crawford, Nora Cristaldi, Addison Deeb, Victoria Derush, Mackenzie Filomena, Aulora Haas, Laurynn Hastings, Nataliee Howsberger, Thaddeus Karig, Lydia Kramer, Finn McCart, Shelby Monahan, Isabella Moon, Nola O’Neill, and Piper Twiss. Way to connect, create, and belong, Black Bears!!
