K-8 Last week of school schedule

Glens Falls City School District sets each school-year calendar well before the start of a new year, taking into account the number of instructional days/hours required by the New York State Education Department, along with an allowance for snow-related delays and closures.

This winter, the district was fortunate enough to use only one snow day, three two-hour delays, and one early dismissal. That means we are on target to meet or exceed the required instructional minutes in all grades this year.

As such, the schedule for the last week of school is changing for students in grades K-8. The new schedule for June 21—26 is as follows:

  • Friday, June 21: Full day of school for grades K—8, LAST DAY of UPK
  • Monday, June 24: Half day of school with dismissal at:
    • 11:30 a.m. for grades K—4
    • 1 p.m. for grades 5—8
  • Tuesday, June 25: Half day of school with dismissal at:
    • 11:30 a.m. for grades K—8
  • Wednesday, June 26: Half day of school with dismissal at:
    • 11:30 a.m. for grades K—8

On Monday, June 24, all Middle School students will be served a regular lunch in the cafeteria. All students dismissed at 11:30 a.m. on any day can pick up a bagged lunch to go at dismissal time.

If you have questions about the revised schedule for the last week of school, please contact the school principal’s office.
