District-wide lockout, Monday March 28, 2022

Posted Monday, March 28, 2022 at 2:35 p.m.

Dear Parents and Guardians:

Our school buildings remain in lockout, but dismissal will be at regular times for all buildings. There will be no outdoor after-school activities. All sports practices at the High School will take place inside the building.

Please practice patience at dismissal, as parents/caregivers who are picking up students exiting the building must be individually approved by the designated staff member stationed at the door during the lockout.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Dear Parents and Guardians:

All district school buildings are currently in a lockout, due to an active police presence/response to a bank robbery at the Glens Falls National on Broad Street. All schools’ students and staff members are safe, accounted for, and continuing their day inside the building with all doors and windows secure. The lockouts will be lifted when we are notified by police that their activity has ended.

Our district-wide safety plan calls for a lockout in response to an actual or potential threat from outside the building. During a lockout, all students and staff must be inside the building, all exterior doors are locked, and classes continue “as usual” inside the school. Anyone entering or exiting the building must be individually approved by the designated staff member stationed at the door during the lockout.

The lockout began at approximately 10:40 a.m., and we will update families as the situation is resolved.
