SECTION II: Strategic Technology Planning
District Mission:
Glens Falls City School District educates, supports, and inspires all students as they learn to become productive and engaged members of their community.

Vision for Instructional Technology:
Technology will be used to enhance students’ critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity, thereby supporting the success of all learners. Students and staff are encouraged to view technology as a tool to research and evaluate information, solve problems, and communicate effectively on a global scale. Technology provides meaningful opportunities for students and the broader school community to grow, thrive, and access experiences that may not have previously existed. This shift supports active learning experiences that promote inquiry, critique, understanding, creativity, and responsible digital citizenship.

SECTION IV: District Technology Goals
Goal 1 – Instruction and AI Literacy
Grow AI literacy and skills across the organization by developing instruction, professional learning, and approved operational uses that support teaching and learning, building upon implementation of the NYS Computer Science and Digital Fluency Standards.

Goal 2 – Professional Learning and Instructional Support
Provide ongoing training and support for educators to strengthen instructional practice and effective use of district-supported educational technology, supported by centralized resources and consistent onboarding.

Goal 3 – Infrastructure and Cybersecurity
Plan and implement infrastructure, system, and cybersecurity improvements to ensure safe, reliable, and sustainable instructional technology environments.

Goal 4 – Student Device Continuity
Sustain and support a K–12 one-to-one student device initiative to ensure consistent, equitable access to instructional technology and strengthen home–school connections.

SECTION V: NYSED Initiatives Alignment
The district integrates instructional technology to improve student learning, support academic standards, and ensure equitable access to learning everywhere and at all times. Technology supports instruction aligned to state standards, responsible and ethical use including AI literacy, and consistent access through a K–12 1:1 device program.
