COVID-19 Reopening Plan: Testing for Coronavirus

Glens Falls City Schools will follow all direction and guidance from the Warren County and New York State Departments of Health regarding testing of individuals for COVID-19.  The district is also following CDC guidance on COVID-19 testing: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/community/schools-childcare/k-12-testing.html

At this time, the district’s health screening procedures do not include on-site testing for COVID-19.

Individuals who are sick should go/stay home or go to a healthcare facility depending on how severe their symptoms are. Testing for COVID-19 will be handled by individuals’ family physicians, community health providers, or the Warren County Department of Health.

It is recommended that parents contact their child’s physician for further guidance and testing if showing symptoms of COVID-19. Families will be provided information to assist with this process.

It is also recommended that staff members contact their own physicians for further guidance and testing if showing symptoms of COVID-19.
