Nearly two dozen Glens Falls student-musicians were in the spotlight this weekend, performing in the highly selective All-County Band Festival at Ballston Spa High School.

These top-performing students were selected based on their Spring 2018 NYSSMA solo festival scores and teacher recommendation. “There are 16 total school districts in our county organization, which spans from Shenedehowa to Warrensburg,” says music teacher Jeremy Bouteiller. The ensembles rehearsed together on Thursday afternoon and again Saturday morning before the concert Saturday afternoon.

“This year was particularly awesome for us,” says Mr. Bouteiller. “We had 23 total students from sixth through twelfth grade, which is a record amount from our district since I’ve been here! Another milestone was that we had three soloists perform during the concert, which is quite an accomplishment. Solos are usually given to students who are ranked #1 in their instrument section.”

Soloists were:

  • Brady Gross on Shalom!
  • Sean Pettis on Ride
  • Scotty Jones on Time’s Quiet Passing

Congratulations on all the hard work each of these students put in for years leading up to their selection for the 2018 Saratoga Warren County Music Educators Association All-County Band festival. And Bravo!!
